Russian drone relay balloon enters Ukraine from Belarus

State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said the balloon crossed into Ukraine on the evening of 2 May and was later identified as a signal relay device.
He said it was intended to amplify communications for Russian aerial strike assets used in attacks on Ukraine, after social media users reported the object.
Demchenko linked the incident to a continuing threat from Belarus, saying Ukraine expects possible provocations and attempts to destabilise the border area.
