Tested at a Porsche meet, Oppo's 200MP main camera and dual periscope zooms beat Samsung in detail, sharpness, macro and most telephoto shots.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra generally produced brighter, more natural low-light images and similar wide-angle results, but was criticised for washed-out colours, processing artefacts and lingering sharpness and stabilisation issues.
Buying choices may still favour Samsung: the S26 Ultra starts at $1,299 or £1,279 and is widely sold, while Oppo's £1,449 Find X9 Ultra is not officially available in the US.
