Director Kash Patel said the bureau thwarted four US terror plots in December, three inspired by ISIS, after tracking suspects online and in person.
Patel said more than 1,000 agents and staff were reassigned from Washington, hundreds of intelligence personnel moved nearer investigations, and contract and facility reviews cut over $300 million.
The changes include a multiagency domestic terrorism centre, closer work with technology companies and local police, and a planned headquarters relocation projected to save billions long term.
