Suarez had arrived from Seattle in the draft-night trade that sent eighth overall pick Flau'Jae Johnson to the Storm for Suarez's rights and a 2028 second-round pick.
General manager Ohemaa Nyanin had praised Suarez after the deal, but the move extends a pattern after last year's second-round pick Shyanne Sellers was also waived in preseason.
