Adjudication officer Peter O'Brien recommended a €500 full-and-final settlement after hearing the driver worked from 3 April to 18 July 2025 during the silage season.
The worker said he was dismissed without notice while taking agreed time off to move house, discovering his employment had ended only through the Revenue website.
The contractor's family disputed that leave was authorised, and the WRC found a casual arrangement with no written terms and confusion over who could approve time off.
