The Sunday market in Wyoming, Michigan runs through October, with opening-day games, a children's museum van, free blood pressure checks and food trucks including Casa de los Abuelos.
Vendors will sell produce, breads, cheeses, meats, flowers, pottery, photography and Lebanese spices, with city parks director Krashawn Martin saying the space was built for residents, businesses and neighbours to connect.
The city says the market advances Godwin Mercado's community-focused mission while giving local sellers a regular outlet; it will be closed on May 24, July 5 and September 6.
