The Venice.ai founder and CTO said he is considering Nevada, Texas, Nashville and Florida after Democrats passed Washington's first income tax, signed by Governor Bob Ferguson on 30 March.
Proudman said entrepreneurs with means have already left or are planning to go, arguing the new millionaires tax could widen beyond top earners and make Washington the country's highest-tax state.
He also criticised Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson after she dismissed fears of wealthy residents leaving, while citing Seattle's 10.35% combined state and local sales tax as another business burden.
