An affidavit says the fraud followed Biffle's 18 December crash near Statesville, with banking, Venmo and PayPal accounts altered using Greg and Christina Biffle's personal details.
Investigators believe a 7-8 January break-in at the Biffle home helped suspects obtain that information; a woman linked to family friends was filmed inside for nearly six hours, and no arrests have been made.
Separately, the estates of fellow crash victims Dennis and Jack Dutton filed wrongful-death claims seeking at least $15 million each from Biffle's estate, though the NTSB has not issued a final crash report.
