University of Bradford team says facial recognition finds new Anne Boleyn sketch

Using digital images from Hans Holbein the Younger’s Tudor drawings in the Royal Collection, researchers identified an “unidentified woman” as Boleyn and published peer-reviewed findings.
Lead author Karen Davies and Professor Hassan Ugail said the system compared facial geometry with portraits of Boleyn’s relatives, including daughter Elizabeth I, to detect family resemblance clusters.
Art historians including Bendor Grosvenor disputed the methodology, while the Royal Collection Trust said it neither endorsed nor took part in the study of the long-disputed Tudor likeness.
