Ed Ashman, 81, died on Thursday, two weeks after being struck on 16 April near El Toro High School in Lake Forest by Mejer's 14-year-old son.

Mejer already faced child endangerment and other charges, while Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said body-camera footage showed she understood the vehicle's dangers and illegality.
