Wall Street Journal corrects article on US air conditioning energy use

The paper said a Monday USA250 Journal Report wrongly claimed US air conditioning uses more energy than all of Africa and omitted attribution to a 2018 International Energy Agency report.
The correction said the US used nearly as much electricity for air conditioning as Africa used for all purposes, rather than more.
The notice, published in the May 2 print edition under Corrections and Amplifications, also invited readers to report errors by email or phone.
