San Diego County unemployment rate falls to 4.3% as nonfarm jobs rise

  • March payrolls increased by 8,100 to 1,573,400, while February's jobless rate was revised to 4.5%; California's rate was 5.2% and the national rate 4.3%.
  • Private education and health services led monthly gains with 3,300 jobs, while government added 2,800 and leisure and hospitality 2,000; trade, transportation, utilities and other services lost 800.
