International Paper stock rises 4.40% and outperforms competitors

Shares closed at $31.76 on Friday, snapping a two-day losing streak as trading volume reached 13.3 million, well above the 50-day average of 7.0 million.
The gain came in a mixed US market session, with the S&P 500 up 0.29% to 7,230.12 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.31% to 49,499.27.
International Paper still ended 43.42% below its 52-week high of $56.13 reached on 29 July, while rival Weyerhaeuser fell 2.16% to $23.99.
