March labour data showed total nonfarm jobs reached 14,403,500, while Texans working, including self-employed people, totalled 15,236,600 and the labour force hit 15,916,600.
The state added 117,200 jobs from March 2025 to March 2026, with officials saying Texas outpaced the national annual job growth rate.
Governor Greg Abbott credited free enterprise, lighter regulation and a skilled workforce, saying Texas has gained nearly 2.6 million jobs since he took office in January 2015.
