Pitchford, 74, bought the 1926 Spanish Colonial in Los Angeles for $530,000 in 1984 after working on Footloose and has owned it for 42 years.
He says he expanded the kitchen, reinforced the house after the 1994 Northridge earthquake and modernised systems, while using the property for writing and hosting music-industry gatherings.
Pitchford moved to Montecito with his late husband during the pandemic and plans to stay there. Hollywood Hills' median sale price was $1.74m in March, up 5.3% year on year.
