Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said Friday the remains found Sunday near a Tampa Bay bridge were Bristy, 27, a Bangladeshi doctoral student last seen in Tampa on 16 April.
Her roommate, Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, now faces two first-degree murder charges in the deaths of Bristy and fellow student Zamil Limon, whose body was found on the Howard Frankland Bridge on 24 April.
Investigators said both victims had multiple stab wounds and were found in tied trash bags; Abugharbieh remains jailed awaiting trial, while the killings have shocked USF and the victims’ families in Bangladesh.
