Southwark Crown Court cleared the Father Ted co-creator over a 2024 confrontation outside London's Battle of Ideas conference involving transgender activist Sophia Brooks, then 17.
Justice Amanda Tipples said judges could not be sure Linehan caused the damage, citing no contemporaneous evidence of the phone's condition and Brooks' initial report mentioning harassment, not damage.
Linehan, convicted last November but acquitted then of harassing Brooks online, said the case should never have reached court. The ruling was separate from a Heathrow arrest inquiry later dropped.
