The 31-year-old said ego hurt him in January's interim lightweight title loss in Las Vegas, where Justin Gaethje won on points and ended Pimblett's nine-fight UFC winning streak.
Pimblett said he chased a knockout to prove his striking instead of following the gameplan, after being knocked down twice and outlanded 200 strikes to 170.
He is awaiting a July opponent, with Benoit Saint-Denis rumoured, and hopes for a future rematch if Gaethje beats Ilia Topuria at UFC White House on 14 June.
