MedStar Health survey finds 47% of US adults never had skin cancer check

Ahead of Melanoma Monday on 4 May, MedStar said 58% do not know melanoma is the deadliest skin cancer and 83% are unaware it can become life-threatening within six weeks.
Dermatology executive director Dr Allison Larson urged adults to get a baseline screening and quickly check changing or irregular dark spots, saying early-stage melanoma is nearly 100% curable.
She also warned sunscreen must be reapplied every two hours, and highlighted the ABCDE signs: asymmetry, border changes, colour variation, growing diameter and evolving appearance.
