Allentown Housing Authority lists below-market home for low-income buyers

The first offering is a three-bedroom Gordon Street house priced at $175,000, versus Allentown's $255,000 median March sale price, with executive director Julio Guridy saying at least three more homes will follow this year.
The authority relocated a tenant last year, renovated the property and may offer some qualified first-time buyers soft mortgages if they earn less than 80% of area median income.
Officials say the scattered-sites programme, which sold two homes about two years ago, will be expanded using at least a dozen other vacant city properties to help families build equity and support neighbourhood improvement.
