Speaking at an educational forum on Thursday, Russia's former president cited alleged US abductions of presidents and wars, while still saying Donald Trump's administration was trying to resolve Ukraine.
His remarks contrasted with the Kremlin's broader line that Washington is playing a useful role in efforts to secure a peace settlement in the fifth year of Russia's war in Ukraine.
Medvedev also said Europe was militarising and that 450,000 people signed Russian military contracts in 2025, plus 127,000 this year, as Moscow relies on volunteers after its 2022 mobilisation.
