Gulf policy undergoes reassessment as GCC weakens after Iran attacks

UAE diplomatic adviser Anwar Gargash said the attacks were premeditated and unprecedented in scale, scope and ferocity, exposing a long-term regional threat.
He said mediation, shared energy projects and trade with Tehran had failed, requiring Gulf states to rebuild unity, align security priorities and strengthen joint defence and representation.
Gargash said the crisis had also increased US influence across regional defence systems, political backing and wider economic and financial engagement.
