French prosecutors said the March raid targeted the bank’s Paris office in a preliminary probe into a former diplomat and associate of Jeffrey Epstein.
The Justice Department’s release of Epstein files renewed scrutiny of chief executive Ariane de Rothschild, whose contacts with Epstein included island visits and a $25 million consulting fee paid by the bank.
Edmond de Rothschild said neither the bank nor Ariane knew of Epstein’s crimes and reported no significant business impact, though rival bankers said some wealthy clients were concerned.
