Shares closed at $151.69 on Thursday, while NextEra Energy rose 3.94%, Southern 3.41% and Dominion Energy 3.20%.
The broader market also advanced, with the S&P 500 up 1.02% to 7,209.01 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 1.62% to 49,652.14.
DTE ended 1.90% below its 52-week high of $154.63 set on 17 February, and trading volume of 1.6 million topped its 50-day average of 1.2 million.
