Shares closed at $226.41 on Thursday, beating Danaher’s 0.08% gain and Paccar’s 0.56% rise as the S&P 500 climbed 1.02% and the Dow added 1.62%.
The advance ended a two-day losing streak, though Dover remained 4.69% below its 52-week high of $237.54 reached on 12 February.
Trading volume reached 1.3 million shares, above the 50-day average of 1.1 million, while competitor Ingersoll Rand outperformed Dover with a 3.10% gain.
