Southwest Airlines stock rises but underperforms competitors

Shares gained 1.88% to $37.92 on Thursday, ending a three-day losing streak as the S&P 500 rose 1.02% and the Dow added 1.62%.
Southwest still lagged rival airline stocks, with Delta up 2.60%, United 1.56% and American 3.54% in a broadly strong market session.
The stock finished 31.19% below its 52-week high of $55.11 reached on 17 February, while trading volume of 5.1 million stayed well below its 50-day average of 9.0 million.
