Musgraves, 37, said the pair ended years of estrangement to record “Horses and Divorces” for her sixth studio album, “Middle of Nowhere”, due on 1 May.
She told Variety she contacted Lambert after seeing her on Instagram, joking they shared “horses and divorces”, and Lambert quickly agreed to write and sing the late-added track.
Musgraves has previously linked their rift to “Mama’s Broken Heart”, which Lambert turned into a 2013 No. 1 hit after it was pitched without Musgraves’ consent, she said.
