Shares closed at $17.58 on Thursday, snapping a two-day losing streak as trading volume reached 21.2 million, far above the 50-day average of 8.9 million.
The broader market also advanced, with the S&P 500 up 1.02% to 7,209.01 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 1.62% to 49,652.14.
Baxter still finished 46.21% below its 52-week high of $32.68, while Medtronic rose 2.02%, Stryker was flat and Becton Dickinson gained 2.57%.
