At Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio on Sunday, riders were left about 200 feet up for around seven minutes before the swing ride resumed.
The park said an operator stopped the ride after seeing a guest use a phone, breaching safety rules; all riders exited safely and the attraction stayed open.
One rider described the wait as scary and said maintenance was called. A similar phone-related stoppage was reported last week at Six Flags New England in Massachusetts.
