The 45-year-old Hall of Fame-bound slugger, who hit 703 home runs, told Fox News Digital he is waiting for the right opportunity after recent firings in Boston and Philadelphia.
Pujols said his World Baseball Classic experience with the Dominican Republic strengthened his interest and highlighted the importance of lineup decisions, player communication and a strong relationship with the general manager.
He also said managing has changed as front offices exert more influence over daily lineups, while pressure remains intense because managers are often blamed when teams lose.
