A Miami federal jury found the cruise line failed to supervise the 45-year-old California nurse after she was served at least 14 tequila shots on Carnival Radiance on 5 January 2024.
Sanders said she blacked out, fell down stairs and suffered concussion, possible traumatic brain injury, back and tailbone injuries, though surveillance footage did not show the disputed fall.
The award exceeded the $250,000 her lawyers sought, and Carnival said it disagrees with the verdict and plans to pursue a new trial and appeal.

What happened during the 35 minutes of missing surveillance video Carnival claimed was unimportant?
