Even with the advance, Philip Morris lagged peers including Altria, up 6.52%, and Universal, up 2.12%, while Mativ Holdings fell 1.69%.
The stock remains 13.71% below its 52-week high of $191.30, reached on 25 February, indicating it has not fully recovered recent peak levels.
