Shares rose 3.94% to $97.88 on Thursday, topping the previous $97.63 peak set on 24 April, while trading volume reached 16.9 million shares.
The gain came in a broadly stronger market, with the S&P 500 up 1.02% to 7,209.01 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.62% to 49,652.14.
NextEra outperformed utility peers including Southern, Dominion Energy and American Electric Power, whose shares also advanced, and volume exceeded the stock's 50-day average of 9.6 million.
