In a Slate Dear Prudence letter, she said the obituary also claimed he wrote for another newsroom and newspapers, though she said his career was in radio announcing.
She said they divorced in the 1990s after 10 years of unhappiness and that he had never worked in either newsroom, visiting one only to bring her food.
Advice columnist Nadira Goffe urged her not to pursue the false claims, saying they were unlikely to affect her life and could be corrected only if acquaintances raised them.
