Minnesota Senate passes bipartisan bill banning AI nudification technology

The measure cleared the chamber 65-0 after the House approved it last week, putting Minnesota on course to become the first US state with such a ban.
It would let victims sue users of the technology and allow the state attorney general to seek penalties of up to $500,000 per image or video from companies.
Companies would have to block Minnesotans' access to the tools, and the law would take effect on 1 August if Governor Tim Walz signs it.
