Day, a 25-year CBS veteran, was reportedly removed after clashes over coverage of Israel's wars in Gaza and Iran, as staff tensions over editorial direction intensified.
The shake-up adds to turmoil under chief Bari Weiss, whose seven-month tenure has brought layoffs, departures, falling ratings and criticism over CBS's independence and Middle East coverage.
