Curry, a San Francisco web developer, and Patil, a University of Maryland master's student, built the tools in about two weeks as US hiring slowed sharply.
Patil says VAi helped him gain recruiter feedback, interviews and a summer internship, while Curry says ChatJC has drawn 80 visitors and showcased his coding skills.
Both added guardrails against sensitive disclosures and AI hallucinations as applicants face intense competition, with LinkedIn saying about 8,200 job applications are submitted every minute.
