Long Island construction jobs fall for 12th straight month

Nassau and Suffolk counties lost 3,900 jobs between February 2025 and February 2026, cutting construction employment 5% to 73,900.
Associated General Contractors of America said New York City lost 6,600 jobs to 130,400, the biggest metro decline among 360 areas tracked.
While 52% of metros added construction jobs, the group urged Congress to renew highway and transit funding before 30 September and launched a $2m campaign backing the bill.
