Writing from Miami Beach, Florida, Levine said as the daughter of Holocaust survivors she was sickened by what she sees as the party's anti-Israel turn.
Her letter responded to Alan Dershowitz's 21 April op-ed, “Why I'm Becoming a Republican”, and argued many 20th-century Jewish immigrants who backed Democrats would be horrified.
Levine said hostility to Donald Trump had, in her view, evolved into “Israel Derangement Syndrome”, framing her criticism as part of a wider debate over Democrats and Israel.
