The Texas Christian girls camp, where 27 campers and counselors died on 4 July 2025, acted after pressure from Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, victims' families and regulators.
The camp said no season should proceed while families grieve and investigations continue; authorities had also cited more than 20 deficiencies in its emergency plans.
Criminal and civil inquiries, including a wrongful-death lawsuit, remain active, and a judge has ordered many damaged buildings preserved as owners abandon plans affecting about 825 registered girls.
