The disruption lasted a few hours, stalling platforms, breaking checkouts and slowing internal tools for businesses reliant on Cloudflare-linked services.
The report says failures in upstream layers such as cloud, routing, security and authentication can quickly cascade through payments, ecommerce, SaaS, logistics and customer support systems.
It argues companies should design for outages with redundancy, dependency mapping and backup providers, as concentration among major cloud platforms leaves organisations exposed to operational, revenue and geopolitical risks.
