Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Vladimir Putin alone would decide when the truce starts and ends, adding no specific timing has yet been set.
Peskov said Moscow still expected a reaction from Kyiv, but none had been received after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked officials to clarify the proposal and suggested a longer halt.
The proposal followed Putin's phone call with Donald Trump, who described the talks as very good and said he hoped for a relatively quick solution to the war.
