The Norway-founded, OpenAI-backed startup opened the 58,000-square-foot plant in Hayward, California, and expects shipments to begin by the end of 2026.
Executives said the site can produce 10,000 robots in its first year and will act as a manufacturing hub for consumer humanoids.
1X said it aims to make 100,000 robots by the end of 2027 while completing a larger manufacturing facility in San Carlos, California.
