Nobel Peace Prize considers 287 candidates for 2026 award

Secretary Kristian Berg Harpviken said the field includes 208 individuals and 79 organisations, with Donald Trump likely among nominees submitted before the 31 January deadline.
He said there had been significant year-to-year turnover and argued the prize remained vital despite rising conflicts and pressure on international cooperation.
Harpviken also voiced alarm over jailed 2023 laureate Narges Mohammadi's worsening health in Iran, while this year's winner will be announced on 9 October.
