The 32-year-old theoretical physicist has led the Perimeter Institute's Celestial Holography Initiative since 2021, aiming to encode the universe as a hologram.
Her work focuses on quantum gravity, black holes and spacetime structure; Stephen Hawking cited her research on the spin memory effect, and she previously declined an invitation to join Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin.
Pasterski, who built and flew a plane as a teenager, graduated top of her MIT physics class after an initial rejection and later chose Perimeter over a reported $1.1m Brown University offer.
Why did a genius physicist reject Jeff Bezos to pursue the universe’s hidden “source code”?
With nations preparing missions based on her work, who will first prove spacetime has a permanent memory?
How could one physicist’s holographic theory completely change our fundamental understanding of reality?
