Malaysia's KLCI index rises 0.1% and ends one-day decline

The benchmark closed at 1,722.02 on Thursday, led by Nestle Malaysia up 5.3%, Petronas Chemicals up 4.6% and Axiata up 4.4%.
YTL Corp fell 2.4%, Dialog Group lost 2.2% and YTL Power slipped 2.1% as regional markets were mixed, with Singapore and Thailand higher but Indonesia and the Philippines lower.
Elsewhere in Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Australia declined while Shanghai edged up; the US dollar rose 0.5% to 3.97 ringgit and the euro gained 0.6% to 4.65.
