A jury found Sayers, 47, guilty of killing Malcolm Johnson at a children’s birthday party in August 2024 using a 3-D printed "ghost gun."
Prosecutors said the murder was revenge for Sayers’ son’s 2023 death, with Sayers believing Johnson was involved. Sayers also attempted to plant the weapon on Johnson after the shooting.
Sayers, a former MMA fighter and founder of the anti-violence nonprofit Heavy Hands Heavy Hearts, faces 16 to 48 years in prison and will be sentenced July 24. The murder weapon was never recovered.
