The 61st Venice Biennale opens 9 May 2026, with over 80 countries confirming artists and organisers for pavilions across Venice, including Giardini, Arsenale, and other venues.
Notable selections include Lubaina Himid for Great Britain, Alma Allen for the US, and Yto Barrada for France. Some pavilions, such as South Africa’s, will remain empty, while others feature large group exhibitions.
This edition follows the curatorial vision of the late Koyo Kouoh and runs until 22 November 2026. The Biennale remains the world’s most prestigious art event, spotlighting both established and emerging artists globally.
