The Seoul High Court increased the former first lady's sentence from 20 months to four years, fined her 50 million won, and ordered confiscation of luxury gifts.
Kim was found partially guilty of manipulating Deutsch Motors stock and accepting luxury gifts from a Unification Church official, but acquitted of receiving free opinion poll results.
The ruling reversed the lower court's acquittal on stock manipulation, while her lawyers plan to appeal to the Supreme Court. Special counsel had sought a 15-year sentence.
