Pensacola native Keyla Richardson advanced after performing Taylor Swift's "Lover" and Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind" on April 27.
America overwhelmingly voted for Richardson, allowing her to continue in the competition and compete for a top three spot next week.
Richardson joins four other contestants in the top 5, following the elimination of Brooks Rosser and Daniel Stallworth. The American Idol finale is scheduled for May 11.
